The Challenges

Many users of the platform come from investigative or law enforcement backgrounds and may lack deep technical expertise. To support this audience, we integrated explanatory animations into each step of the wizard. These short animations clearly show what the user needs to do (like connecting a device or choosing a setting) making the process easy to follow without needing to read complex instructions. This helps users feel more confident and reduces errors early in the workflow.
Adaptive Flow
The extraction process varies greatly depending on the device type, OS, and legal context. To handle this complexity, we built a dynamic wizard that adapts in real-time to user selections. The stepper on the left guides users through primary steps like Extraction Configuration, Device Setup, and Extract, while also expanding into contextual sub-steps when needed. This layered structure keeps the interface clean while offering the flexibility required for forensic workflows.
