The Challenges

Franklin Insights
Franklin Insights is a new feature representing the integration of Sigmento's AI-driven product data technology into Akeneo’s B2B PIM system. The goal was to create a user experience that felt native to Akeneo while guiding users through complex, large-scale editing tasks with clarity and confidence.
Consistency
We began by mapping all existing UI components to understand how they were used and which could support the new feature. This research helped us align with the product’s design language.
In parallel, we defined our potential personas, focusing on their goals, responsibilities, and pain points within the PIM system. As a result, we were able to build a consistent interface that felt like a natural extension of Akeneo, while staying focused on user needs.


Navigation
To create a connected and intuitive flow across settings screens, we introduced a sticky Help Box at the top of each page. It provided context for the current step and a link to the next. This gave users a sense of ongoing progress and encouraged them to complete the full setup process with clarity.



Safe Experience
To support safe and focused decision-making during mass edits, we used an overlay layout that removed distractions and guided users through three clear steps. A "Back" option allowed users to review and confirm each step, minimizing the risk of mistakes.
We also introduced Franklin, a friendly robot character who appeared during onboarding and key decision points. Franklin made the experience feel more supportive and human, reinforcing user trust while keeping the tone light and approachable.
